Our little lady has arrived and she is just as cute as can be. Her birth day went something like this:
On Saturday August 31, 2013 I was scheduled to arrive at the hospital at 6:30am for an induction. Brian and I arrived at 6:30 and they hooked me up to the monitors. The Doctor came in about 8am to check me and I was 2cm dilated but still pretty high. They started the pitocen drip in my IV and it was only a short time until the contraction started. At about 10:00 the contractions were 3-5 mins apart. I continued to manage through the pain by breathing and at 12:30pm I was checked again but was only 3cm. I knew it was going to be a long day if I was moving so slow. I continued getting contractions eery 3-5 mins but they were starting to be more intense and more frequent. At about 4:00pm as I was breathing through a contraction I felt a pop and a gush- my water just broke. I was hoping that would be the key to getting things moving faster- and I was right. At 5:00pm the Doctor checked me and I was 6cm dilated. My contractions started to get more intense and were only 1-2 mins apart. It was happening really fast. I was asked to do a few practice pushes to get her head down a little lower. After the next two contractions I went from 8cm to fully dilated and 100% effaced. The Doctor noticed my bladder was really full and they needed to make room for baby to come out so they had to catheterize me so I could void. At 5:30pm I started to push. It was a good 4-5 contractions and I was given a small episotomy with a local so I wouldn't tear. 2 pushes later. her head came out, one big push after that her shoulders came out and then the next contraction at 6:04pm she slid out. They laid her on top of me and I just couldn't believe she was here. (and I couldn't believe I did it again with no pain meds!!) She was fair skinned with strawberry blonde hair. They put her in the warmer and ran their tests. She weighed in at 9lbs 2oz and 22inches long. They boys were in love. They were in the waiting room shortly after I delivered waiting to come in. Brian and I wanted them to meet their baby sister before the rest of the world. They came in as soon as my recovery period was over. She has us all smitten!
