Some weeks there just isn't enough time in the day. The boys are keeping me busy, as is work. I have been slacking in the picture taking and blog entering.
John's vocab has sprouted. He talks all day long. He is too cute and some of the things that he says crack me up. It's also so interesting to hear the things he remembers. He is still talking about the Zoo and its been months since we went there. He says "I wuv you" in the cutest little voice and has nice sound effects when giving momma a kiss "muuuaaahhhh".
He has nicknamed his brother Swiper (from Dora the explorer-- the fox that is always swiping whatever Dora is rescuing). Shane is always trying to get his hands on whatever John is playing with at the moment. I hear many times a day "Swiper, No swiping. Swiper, No swiping. Swiper, NO swiping. OH MAN" I really should capture it on video.
He loves to sing songs these days. I will hear him while he is quietly playing with his toys. A few of his favorites are Mary had a little lamb, Itsy Bitsy Spider, ABC's, 5 Little monkeys, Going on a Bear Hunt, Ring around the Rosie and Old MacDonald.

Shane gets around very well these days. He is a super fast crawler, its quite cute to watch. He also loves to walk around holding onto the furniture. He follows John around the coffee table as he plays and walks away from Shane. I think we recently discovered that he is allergic to penicillin. He had a really bad reaction this week. Poor little dude was covered in some serious hives. He is on the mend now and we won't be having anymore of those meds.
We have been working on some sleep training and its been going surprisingly well. He is doing so much better. I just couldn't get up so many times to nurse each night. It was killing me. We still have a little ways to go til we are sleeping through the night, but its a definite improvement.

One of the many highlights of my week last week was meeting Beth and Kate (and kids) at Lafayette Village for lunch and some fresh air. I only had Shane with me since John was with Opa, which was a nice break. The kids enjoyed checking out the ducks and enjoying the fall day while we chatted and sat outside and ate lunch. It was great seeing you ladies. We should do it more often :)
