Land of Make Believe 2009

Its so exciting see the magic in a child's eyes when exploring new things. Or seeing how they enjoy it differently then they have in the past. It is so much fun experiencing things through a child, hard to put into words, but so magical.

Like "actually" driving a police car when all you talk about being when you grow up is a police officer "like Uncle Warren".

Like getting excited for the ride to go faster and faster.

Like riding solo because your a big boy!

Like patiently anxiously waiting for the train ride with your friends.

Just like you did last year.... minus one.

Like jumping up and down with excitement because your so happy.

Like seeing Santa in the middle of summer.... (I suppose only exciting for some....as Shane wanted no part in it. I guess he does not really get the importance of Santa)

and telling him you want a skateboard for Christmas.

Like going down the water slides all by yourself, over and over and over again.

Splashing til you get EVERYONE wet and enjoying every minute of it.

Like having so much fun I couldn't fit all the fabulous pictures in so Click Here for more :)

Shane wasn't feel all that great about half way through our trip. But he tried to make the best of it in the end. Thanks Mimi for all your help for our trip to Land of Make Believe.

Space Farms 2009

Last Friday Mimi took off work to join us on our annual trip to Land of Make Believe, but it was canceled due to a power outage in hope. So we decided to head to Space Farms for a little while instead.

I'm not a huge fan of the place, but the kids enjoy it because they can see and feed all the animals.

Shane loved seeing the animals and making new animal sounds. He loves to "mooo" like a cow , "meow" like a cat and "quack" like a duck.

Bernie's 60th Birthday

It's always a great time getting together with extended family. Good food, good laughs and good drinks :) Yesterday we headed up to Honesdale, PA to celebrate Bernie's 60th Birthday.

The boys had a great time playing (even in the mud puddles and rain). I barely got any pictures of John because he was whizzing around on his bike the whole time.

Shane at 17 Months

If there is a table, Shane will climb it. Or anything else he can get himself onto.
If there is a puddle, Shane will jump in it. Or swish his hands around in it with a big grin.
If there is a cat, Shane will Meow. The cutest little meow I ever did see.

If there is a swing, Shane will will grunt and say "uppps" until you put him in it.
If there is a bug, Shane will smoosh it.
If there is bath water, Shane will drink it. Gag!
If there is a ball, Shane will throw it. Even if your not expecting it.

If there is sand, Shane will be covered in it.
If there is food, Shane will be begging for it.
If there is a deer, Shane will "click" his tongue to call it.
If there is a motorcycle passing by, Shane will say "Dada".

If there are empty shoes Shane will wear them. No matter who they belong to.
If there is bag laying around, Shane will empty it.
If there are bubbles floating, Shane will pop them.
If you name the sounds of a cat, duck, dinosaur, bear, dog, or monkey... Shane will say "meow", "wack", "raaar", "grrr", "arf", or "oh oh ah ah".

If you wave and say bye, Shane will wave and say bye too with his little hand squeezing open and closed.

This little boy brings me so much joy. His communication and vocabulary has sprouted. He loves saying hi and bye and calling all of our names. His laughter is so contagious yet so evil at times. I love when he gets so excited he starts running. It is the cutest little run with his little booty shaking back and forth. He loves spending any time outdoors, and does not like to be told what to do (but who really does these days).

Happy 17 months Shaneshine...

Friendly Neighbor

This is Jesse. We first saw her when we moved here in the summer of '05. She has been a resident of our lake for many years I have been told. That's how we learned of her name. She is very friendly, and very trusting or so these pictures say. The boys just love when Jesse comes to visit. This is the skinniest we have ever seen her, since she is usually "with child". Jesse is a piebald deer - not something you typically see everyday and the boys enjoyed feeding her some dried pears. She gobbled them all up!

Bring on Summer!

Johnny's new thing is the time. He asks me about every twenty minutes what time it is. I am not quite sure why. If I had to guess its because he isn't a fan of naps and bedtime and he is wants to make sure its not "time" for bed. When I ask him what time it is, he usually replies with something odd like "forty nine", "two six", "thirteen one" or "sixty o'clock". It does give Brian and I quite the laugh.

The boys are super excited for warm weather, playing with water, and the summer!! Here are some pictures from the past weekend at Ginny's house visiting with Aunt Jessica, Keira, Aunt Lauren and Parker. The kids had a blast playing on the deck and with the sprinkler. Shane is pure evil when it comes to ....well...anything! (see sprinkler pictures below, where he will squirt you if you come near him, followed by an evil little chuckle)
