We've been busy

We have had a busy week filled with Halloween Parties, play groups, and a birthday party. John is really excited to go trick or treating tonight! He says it so loud and proud when I ask him to, in the comfort of our own home. But from a peak of Trick or Treating through the village last weekend, when he gets up to the stranger, his trick or treat is really soft and barely noticeable. Maybe by the end of today he will be saying it a little louder.

Here are a few favorite pictures from this week. I will do a Halloween post this weekend with all the pictures.

Well, I guess as I listen to Shane squeal from his high chair breakfast is over. I am making him a doctor appointment today, I think he has an ear infection.

PS. Can you tell I can't get many good shots of John these days, he refuses to look at the camera and when he does he makes a goofy face. So I have to be slick and catch him by surprise. I still have Shane fooled :)

I've been BOOED

I have been Boo'ed by Shanna. Thanks hun :)

Here are the Rules.

**Now, this is how the Blogging Boo will work. Go to as many friends as you want and tell them they’ve been “Boo-ed”. Have them link back to your blog to pick up their Halloween Treat (picture) and tell them to “Boo” their friends. Then, put the picture in your side bar so everyone knows that you’ve already been “Boo-ed” and to send the pic to someone else. So, are you scared yet!!?? BOO!! Okay? one more time……
1. Take picture, put on sidebar
2. Tell people they have been booed- or tag them.
3. Link back to who booed you

Okay- Get to BOO-ING!

I am going to tag the people I am going to boo. Let's see who is paying attention ;)

I’m booing Rebecca, Jodi and Danielle and anyone else that wants to play, just link back to my blog so I know your playing.

Shane's 9 month Well Baby Appt

We had Shane's 9 month well baby appointment today. I like to keep things documented on the blog because its so easy to access. He did great and only squirmed a little bit for the doctor.

He weighed in at 23lbs 13oz and 29 1/2 in. He is finally starting to drop and get onto the growth chart. John was 22lbs 8oz 30 1/4 in at 9 months and 23lbs 8oz 32in at 1 year. So Shane has both John's 9 month and 12 month stats beat. He is growing like a little monster. The doctor even commented that it doesn't look like Shane misses too many meals :) This I have to agree on.

We started a little sleep training over the last week or so. Shane was getting up between 3-5 times a night still, and I was OVER it! We were co-sleeping to make it easier for me to still function during the day, but I had just had enough. Everyone has their limit, right? So Friday night we started Shane's sleep training boot camp. He did great! I was so surprised. He still got up at his 10, 12, 2, 4 increments, but at 10 and 12 he just fussed for a few minutes and then put himself back to sleep. At 2 he screamed for over 30 mins so I went in to get him and nursed him (thinking that he has NEVER gone all night without a few feedings, so he was probably hungry) as soon as I layed him down after nursing him he went to sleep and slept til 8:40am. The next night was pretty much the same, sometimes he wakes up and fusses and puts himself back to sleep other nights he doesn't fuss at all. But he is still waking and crying between 2-4 to eat. I can handle one nursing session a night- for now. I am very happy with the progress. I hope it continues!

9 Month Comparison

I thought I would do a 9 month comparison of the boys.

I added the color one in too, so you could see the eye color. Both blue, but John has Brian's blue- to a T. Shane's have a little more green in them

Goose Bumps

This was my conversation with John this morning as I was getting him ready for the day.

"Momma, whats that?" *rubbing his bare legs back and forth*

"
Those bumps you feel are called goose bumps"

"No Momma, they duck bumps" silence "Quack Quack"

Silly little boy!! Where does he get this from? I hear his father was quite the character back in his day ;) Maybe its time to turn the heat on too :)

There Are Some Silly's in This House

These boys were being very silly today.

John was bouncing off the walls and Shane has found his screech. John was never a loud baby or a loud kid, but Shane has NO issues being loud :) I included a little video of each of them. I was trying to ask John questions, but he didn't want to sit still for a second. And Shane figured out how to scream as loud as he possible could. He cracks himself up, which is too cute!

Enjoying Fall Days

The last week has been beautiful fall weather. We have been trying to take advantage of it. Both boys enjoy being outside. We sit out in the back in the afternoon listening to music and playing. Both boys love it!

I just love to take advantage of these nice days because I am sure we will be trapped in the house for the winter.

Happy 9 months Shane!

As I watched you play cars with your brother this morning, I am joyed to see how much you enjoy being with your brother and doing what your brother does. You are always determined to see what John is up to, and get in a piece of the action. You figure out how to do whatever he is doing. Being only 9 months is not going to stop you!

As you pulled yourself to a stand and played with the cars, I watched you. Your facial expressions as you pushed the car or tractor back and forth were too cute for words. You have this seriousness to you that I see I have only ever seen your father's brow. You were in your own little world exploring new things.

You explored a balloon for the first time too this week, and wow were you mesmerized. I wasn't going to allow you to play with it for fear of you "eating" it like everything else you put into your mouth. You did so well with it. You only ate the string and played with the balloon, hitting it back and forth and laughing as it bonked you on the head.

If you could, you would spend your whole day outside. You love being outdoors and love taking in all surroundings. Even if its munching on some grass or leaves. Seriously, those cheeks of yours are so delicious. I munch them up daily!

You have passed by baby food completely. You have always wanted nothing to do with it, and I guess it just took me a few months to accept that and I have moved on. All the baby food I made will have to be used for other purposes. If you can't pick it up with your fingers you don't want it. So you are now eating everything that we are eating. Like a champ I might add. You get so excited and start panting when you see Momma eating something that you want a piece of. Its too cute!

I'll feed you more food, stop eating leaves!!

I still need to make an appointment for your 9 month well baby check up. Last time at the doctor's a few weeks ago you were 23lbs 4oz, which was about 2 lbs more then what John was at your age. Growing big, and growing strong!!

Happy 9 months Little Man! Momma Loves you!! Dada and Johnny do too!

Hanging with Uncle Charlie

Here are a few cute pictures that Ali sent me of John and his Uncle Charlie (Brian's best friend) at Zachery and Jacob's flag football game a few weeks ago. I got a call around 11am from Charlie asking if he could come pick up John and take him to the boys football game. John enjoys watching any sport. He was cheering on the Cougars! John always has such a blast when he is with Uncle Charlie!

Thanks so much for the pictures Ali!!

It's only a matter of time

until John won't be able to save himself from this...

time to start beefing up Johnny!! Shane is quickly gaining on you!

Even after a little incident today where Shane fell face first out of the stroller into the rock driveway and scratched up his face/head. He is still his tough and rowdy self.

Pumpkin Picking 2008

We had such a wonderful day for pumpkin picking. The boys had a great time!
I took way too many pictures, here are a few of my favorites.

Johnny had to find the perfect pumpkin so we walked around alot. He attempted to pick up a bunch and he wasn't happy til he found a pumpkin that he could carry.

After we returned home we carved our pumpkins.
Here is Johnny's, Dada's, Momma's and Shane's
