Cwissmiss Through His Eyes

Last year Shane had no idea what Christmas was all about. This year as he nears two (eeekk) he is starting to understand it a little more. Although I think he is a little confused. It is a lot for a child to remember and understand, that's for sure.

Shane calls Santa- Cwissmiss. As he see's Santa outside on people's lawns, or at a local event, on the back of a fire truck passing through the neighborhood, or in a favorite Christmas movie he points and says "Mommy!!! Cwissmiss!!!" in the cutest little toddler voice. It brings and instant smile to my face. Oh but the cuteness and confusion doesn't stop there. When Shane see's a snowman somewhere he says "Mommy!!! Swanta!!" Although he is a little confused, he is still very excited.

The boys have been enjoying lots of fun Christmas movies, enjoying their treats the elves leave for them each morning in our hanging advent calendar, and the holiday festivities we have been going to.

Sledding

Although we just got a big snowstorm last night, and although we did go sledding (tubing) today...these pictures that I am posting are from our last snow storm over a week ago. I never got around to posting them, well since I rarely use my little camera anymore and that is what I took to snap these because there was no way my good camera was coming out sledding :)

Not too much different between the two times. The boys had so much fun cruising down the hill by our lake. Neither have any fear and screech the whole way down.

Little Packages

John has his first Christmas Show for his school this past weekend. It was so great watching all the kids get up there and sing and dance.

Brian and I were joined by Mimi and Opa. John's class sang "Little Packages"

Many of them just swayed to the music and did the hand motions rather then sang the song. It was still super cute.

We were told it will be broadcasted on a local cable channel. We are hoping to record it on the DVR so we can show the grandparents that were not able to make it.

We were so proud of our little guy.

He's just growing so fast!

Letter To Santa

Johnny wrote his letter to Santa this year. Daddy helped again and when they were done they put it in the mailbox for the mail lady to deliver it to the North Pole. Last Year Johnny and Daddy wrote a letter as well.

John asked for a skateboard, batman computer, boat (serioulsy???) and some batman toys. He let Santa know that he had been a good boy this year.

The difference between this year and last year was that last year I took care of mailing the letter to Santa (telling John I would mail it out after he went to bed- which really meant put it in our lock box for safe keeping). This year Daddy and John got their coats, hats and boots on and brought it to the mailbox. Put the letter in the mail and put up the flag. Daddy also forgot said letter and it was picked up by the mail carrier on Saturday morning. Whoops. We are hoping it makes it back to us so we can save this years like last years.

John even signed his name at the end. He does the J-O-H all by himself and gets a little assistance with the N. So proud of him!

My Two Favorite Ornaments

Here is our tree. (gated for a certain almost 2 year old that likes to destroy)

Here is one of my two favorite ornaments.

Here is my second of two favorite ornaments.

It's going to be so fun to bring these little ornaments out of the box every year and reflect back at my little guys first Christmas'. Love them to pieces!!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

O! You better watch out!
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

Ticket's Please

We had our annual trip on the Polar Express this past weekend. This was Shane's first time and Johnny's third. It is something Johnny looks forward to right after Halloween. We always have so much fun and are going to be quite upset when our little one's are too big to go :(

Once we parked we had to take a bus to the Train. Well of course that was just as much fun as the train ride itself. This was also Shane's first time on a bus.

Johnny, being his third, is quite the pro ;)

Hannah just loved holding "Baby John's" hand. She refuses to call him anything else. He was a baby when she first met him and it stuck. Not sure he even notices, or cares.

It was a bit chilly waiting for the train, but the kids handled it quite well.

This year Aunt Jessie and Clara joined our crew. I think they will now make it a tradition for their family.

Me and my loves!

The ride follows the movie and they interact with the kids and tell the story. The conductor comes through the train cars and punches the tickets, the cooks come down with cookies and hot chocolate, the hobo comes down and sings songs, and Santa comes by handing out bells.

Smiles from my guys the whole time.

We had such a great time. Previous years pictures can be found here 2008 Polar Express
