Not Me Monday

I did not take my toddler's sock off of his foot in the car today to wipe his disgusting green booger nose with because I didn't have a tissue in the parking lot of big brothers school. Nope, NOT ME!

That one parenting thing I said I would never do, the one where I use my saliva to clean my child's face, I would never do that. But it was picture day at school and I couldn't let him go in with whatever that black stuff was on his face. EEWWWWW Gross! NOT ME!

It wasn't me that fed my two children M&M's at 8am because I promised a treat the night before if they slept in the same room together with no problem. Sometimes you have to pick your battles. NOT ME!

Thanks MckMama you rock!

John's First Class Trip

Great excitement from this little boy today as he got to experience his first class trip and his first bus ride. Not quite sure which one he enjoyed more :) "Momma, this is a great bus ride" he said as we were bouncing around on the bus on the way to go apple and pumpkin picking.

Its crazy how much you forget about how "enjoyable" bus rides really are ;) Between the bus ride and the tractor ride through the pumpkin patch and apple orchard I think my insides got a good shaken.

Johnny was on the hunt for the perfect pumpkin. And I think he found it :) Then he helped Momma fill up two bags with apples, just perfect for baking our homemade apple pies. Each time he picked an apple he would say "Momma, is there a worm in this one?" Well, I just had to tell him something to make the experience last longer.... so what if I told him that make sure there were no worms in the apple before putting them in the bag :) He loves worms... but what boy doesn't.

I had so much fun watching him experience his first class trip. He has been pumpkin picking and apple picking in past years, but this time it was just different.

I think Mimi has a picture of me in my Camp Auxilium shirt going apple picking when I was younger.

Fall Days

Well we have been keeping pretty busy with this beautiful fall weather. Trying to spend as much time outdoors as we can before we are forced to hibernate for the winter.

Shane is doing okay while big brother is at school. We have had some nice one on one time, something I didn't think I would cherish as much as I do. I feel like I have seen a whole new side to Shane. I love watching his curious little mind at work. His new favorite phrase is "Mommeee, I want dat one!" to whatever his little heart desires at that moment.

Johnny is LOVING school. Each day when I pick him up he comes running to my car saying "Momma, I had so much fun at school today." Getting all the details has still remained a challenge but we are starting to piece things together. I am looking forward to next week when we get to attend his first class trip. Apple and Pumpkin Picking oh my!

Things are finally on the up around here. After 10 months of being laid off, Brian is back to work. Not sure for how long, but every little bit helps. And I am on the search for a new work at home job.

Really excited about my new endeavor as a photographer. It is something I am so passionate about and I truly enjoy EVERYTHING about it. Its so nice to have something for me, something I enjoy and get paid to do. Something I want to learn more about every time I can.

Looking forward to a fall that is full of beautiful days with amazing weather. Where I get to explore with my children and learn through their actions. We have lots of fun things planned.

Hop On Pop

They have only been gone 1 day, and boy do we miss them! Pop Pop and Shari made their way back home on Tuesday after a nice stay for the month of August. It was so great having such wonderful help around the house. I am so grateful for all that they have done. The list is endless.

As we headed home from the park today and entered onto our road Shane was repeating "Pop Pop". He thought (like usual) that when we returned home Pop Pop would be there.

It is so great that our little guys have such wonderful grandparents. They are truly blessed. These little summer moments spending time with their grandparents have really opened my eyes to the importance to having such wonderful family influences in their life.

We are going to miss you!!! Have a safe trip home!!

I guess I have to return to my duties around here ;)

Love and Marriage

Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
This I tell you brother
You cant have one without the other

Love and marriage, love and marriage
Its an institute you cant disparage
Ask the local gentry
And they will say its elementary

Try, try, try to separate them
Its an illusion
Try, try, try, and you will only come
To this conclusion

Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
Dad was told by mother
You cant have one without the other

Happy 5 Year Anniversary Baby!!

Johnny, loves signing this song, and its just too cute!

My Little Pre-Schooler!

Today was Johnny's first day of pre-school. Let's just say I am one proud Momma! He did so well. We walked into his class and he was a little hesitant at first. He really did not want or expect me to leave. But I reassured him that I would come back and get him in a few hours, and he seemed ok with that.

As I went to pick him up I got a little teary eyed. I saw him waiting for me with his teacher at the front door- looking so big. He ran right up to me and the car and said "Momma I had a good day at school."

One of his teachers who greeted me with John upon pick-up told me he had a great time in the playground, and did very well. He had a big smile on his face and told me about the cool sandbox, and that he even wore his shoes.

Then he told me about the stories his teacher told him, Clifford's First Day of School.

After picking him up from his first day, I treated him to lunch at Friendly's where we talked more about his first day and what he did. Some of the stuff came out easy.... but most of it I had to pry for. What is it with boys and their details :)

He is super excited to go back next week. This time for a full day, rather then a half day.
