Dear Shane,
Has it really been two years since you entered into the world? It is hard to remember a time when you weren't part of our family. You have brought us so much joy and laughter. I remember holding you on your "birth" day and was in such awe of our little guy. It seemed like forever til I got to meet you and when that time came, I cherished every minute.

With that new baby smell and those sweet little noises you would make were such a fun aspect of your life. You loved snoozing and eating and of course crying. You were always very expressive.

Then I watched you grow into this chubby little baby. Full of smiles and dimples galore. You have always had a silly sides, as well as, a serious side. I definitely see those qualities in you that your father has.

You love laughing and you love making people laugh. I love seeing the excitement in your eyes when you learn something new, or try something new. Your whole face changes and you light up.

You have never been the quiet one, you definitely have no problem expressing your wants and needs. Each morning as I hear you screaming "MOMMY" on the monitor, not once but more like 10 times, I laugh. But as I go to pick you up and take you out of your crib you greet me with the cutest kiss and hug and say "shhhh Johnny sweeping". (of course not for long)

You have had the joy of having both of your parents home for the majority of your two years. You have grown such a bond with your daddy and mommy. You are definitely daddy's little boy and truly enjoy everything about him. Nothing brings me such joy as watching you interact with your Daddy and Brother.

Sometimes, I have to laugh or I'll cry at the things you do. You have the biggest need to explore things on your own. You love being dirty and you love the experience of getting dirty to explore new things. There are so many times that I will find you up on the changing table with your whole hand in the aquafor tub covered from head to toe in a gooey clear substance, or a mouth and tongue covered in sand. Your clothes are always filthy because you wear what you eat and wear what you play. When you play you play hard, its the only you know how, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

I love when you greet me every morning with an "I wub yoo". It melts my heart. You are so full of love and share your love with us throughout the day. On your second birthday my wish for you is that you continue to be the leader you always show you are. You keep being silly and you continue to love your family as much as you do now.

I love the person you are and the little man your becoming. I love you more then words can say. Happy 2nd Birthday Shane James. xoxo

Love, Mommy
