Happy 3rd Birthday Johnny!
Johnny,
I really never thought time would go this fast. I wish I could stop time and just let you be little for a while longer. You have taught me so much about myself in the short three years you have been here.
You love to make me smile and are always looking out for me. You ask me many times a day "Momma are you happy?". You are filled with "Momma, I wuv you." (and Dadda I wuv you). You amaze me daily with your creativity and imagination. You don't miss a beat.
As I look into your baby blue eyes I am thankful that I have such a well mannered little man. You are often soft spoken and reserved but surely show your true colors when in the comfort of your own home with Momma, Dadda and Shane.
You make me want to be a better person and you make me appreciate the little things in life. Just taking the time to sit with you and do puzzles or play playdoh brings so much joy to both of us.
You were a little hesitant to have a birthday this year. Maybe you secretly knew I didn't want you go grow up, or you were just being stubborn (no idea who you inherited that from ; -) ) You kept insisting "ITS NOT MY BIRFDAY!!!" But you came around during your birthday party when everyone was there to celebrate you and Shane. You had no problem having everyone sing Happy Birthday to you and blowing out your candles. Now you just love that it is your birthday and welcome it with open arms and lots of cupcakes :)
Happy THIRD Birthday little man!! I love you! Now, slow down on the getting older, please!

Boys Birthday Party 2009
Last weekend we celebrated John's 3rd and Shane's 1st birthday with our dear family and friends. We had a great turn out and lots of kids enjoyed the tents, tunnels and ball pit while the adults were able to chat and relax. We ended up signing Happy Birthday twice so that each boy was able to be in the spotlight (and so I could take pictures of both during their "time")

Happy 1st Birthday Shane
Dear Shane,
Where has the time gone? I cannot believe it has been a whole year since we welcomed you into the family. You have taught Momma so many new things, that I thought I had mastered during the first round of being Momma.
You greeted me with your typical smile and giggles this morning. You instantly put a smile to my face, even at 6am. You are such a little joy and yet such a little monster at the same time. You enjoy exploring new things, dancing (bobbing your head and swaying your body), playing with your brother (or taking whatever your brother is playing with), sitting with daddy, having momma carry you around forever, playing peek a boo, baths- boy do you love baths (dunking our head, drinking from the faucet, spashing).
Your baby blue eyes, dimples and contagious laugh melt Momma and Dadda's heart (and anyone else that comes in contact with you).
You love saying Momma, Dadda, Baba and growling and grunting. You doing so great with your baby signs - more and all done. Mommy is so impressed and proud of you! You never ate baby food, so we dont' have to starting weaning from that. You are a champion eater and will devour anything that Momma puts in front of you. You are doing much better at taking the bottle, so thats a relief. I am slowly weaning you from nursing to soy formula/soy milk. You are doing so well.
You are taking steps (7-10 at a time), but you are still uneasy about it and prefer to crawl. You get around so much faster that way, and you never like to miss a beat! I see walking in the near future.
Oh and one more joy you brought to me in the last week- Sleeping through the night!! Its about time buddy!! Thanks!!

Technical Difficulties...
My main desktop crashed. The video card and motherboard took a surge. So I am without a play computer for about a week or so. I do have access through my work laptop, but it is limited. That's why this week and next are so sparse. I am thankful that we were able to recover my data. I had all my pictures backed up on an external hard drive, but some of my documents and designs were not backed up. So I will hopefully have all that back on my new desktop that I will get back in about a week.
So take this as a friendly reminder to back up your data- often :)

Boy Oh Boy
Oh John, I wonder if you will attend college with that dang binky. It is one battle I am not ready to fight. It soothes you, and you only use it while sleeping. Call me weak, I just can't take it away from you. I do hope you outgrow the habit soon tho, and still hold onto your blankies for years to come.
Oh Mr. Snaggle Tooth. When will your second top tooth appear?? I can't help but smile when I see your 1/2 toothless grin :)
Oh Shane, you are LOVING your brother's car these days. I think that will be what Momma and Dadda get you for your first birthday- exactly a week away... serioulsy I am numb thinking that a whole year has past since you came into our lives.
Oh Brothers, you two truly love each other. You both look for each other when you awake in the morning. The kind words (and grunts) said to each other each moring are priceless. I hope you have a brotherly bond like no other, forever!
Oh my heart melts when I think of how lucky I am to be your Momma!

Bounce Fun
We hosted a private play date on Monday at the boys favorite play spot- bouncearama.

What a Difference a year makes- Then and Now for 2008
When you see the boys day to day you don't notice the little changes that occur. It's nice to look back and compare at how much they actually grow in a year.
