Happy 6th Birthday John!

Somehow I blinked and it went from 2006 to 2012 in an instant.  As I went in to wake you up at 7am as you requested so that you would have time to open your presents before school (and help frost your cupcakes) I couldn't help stare at you while you were sleeping.  You look the same today sleeping as you did as a baby. It totally flashes back in my memory.  I could sit for hours watching you sleep.

You have made me so proud to be your mother. You are kind, sensitive, smart, silly, and shy.  You love all things electronic-any game you can get your hand on, you love the thrill of rides, swimming in deep waters, watching television, you enjoy cub scouts, sports, telling jokes, wrestling your dad and brother, reading stories, coloring, doing crafts, exploring , going on adventures and 

once in a while just spending the day in your pj's enjoying family time. 

There is not a day that goes by that I am not proud of the little boy you are becoming.  Although you are not so fond of school right now (because it's so long and so many days) you are excelling.  You always put in your best effort in whatever you do and I pray that it continues through everything you do in life.  

You bring so much joy to our lives and we love you more then words can say,  

more then all the stars in the sky and more then all the sand on all the beaches!

Happy 4th Birthday Shane!

 It's truly amazing to look back on years past and to reflect on all the good and bad.  Something that seems like it happened yesterday, really happened years ago.  Today was a day of celebration as my little man turned FOUR.  It seems like just yesterday that I was holding him in my arms the first time.  But that really happened FOUR years ago.

Today was spent with Happy Birthday's, playing with new toys, talking to family on the phone, enjoying a day at school with some yummy cupcakes, a dinner out, followed by more presents, more new toys, and more cupcakes.  All in all a wonderful birthday. 

I am amazed by the little boy you have become Shane.  You know what you want, and how to get it. Even if you need to take it upon yourself and do it (with or without permission).  You love your family.  You love to wrestle, fight, play, get dirty, read, snuggle, build and explore.  You love to ask questions and love to explain the answer given to you.  You love animals even the slimy dirty kind. 

The excitement that shines through your eyes over the most simple things brings such joy to my heart. I often look back and smile inside with an overwhelming amount of joy that you give me.  You keep me on my toes, but keep me balanced at the same time.  You always keep me laughing. 

Each year your personality grows.  You teach me new things daily. 

I love the little man you are and the little man your growing into.  Just please stop growing so fast!!

Christmas 2011

As usual, I am behind.  There just are not enough hours in the day!  The holiday came and went in the blink of an eye.  The kids had an amazing Christmas, enjoying every aspect and were sad to see it come to an end.  They still keep saying that they can't wait until next Christmas.

The dust hasn't even settled yet, and we are on to birthday's.   The boys are eager for their party at Pump It Up in a week.   I am hoping to get some 6 and 4 year pictures of them sometime soon.  We have also began our countdown to our Florida vacation!!  I don't quite know who is more excited about that one - the boys- or Brian and I.
